National Televison Awards Winners!

Well last night we had the National Television Awards an annual show where the best of British TV comes together for the public's awards. This blog won't be for those who aren't TV addicts and I have biased opinions on all of them.

So firstly the Serial Drama Award. How did Coronation St beat EastEnders, this year has been it's most boring yet. To be honest I think that Serial Drama doesn't deserve an award anymore, but sigh how boring has Corrie looked. EastEnders may be depressing but there's lots of Drama. Granted some of it is repeated too much storyline-wise but it's always a good watch. So therefore I think it's a shame EastEnders wasn't recognised.

Next onto Best Drama. I'm a huge Doctor Who fan and will usually stand by it but it just didn't deserve this award. The real winner had to be Downton Abbey, it's been critically acclaimed, got some of the best viewing figures for Drama of all time and looks amazing. Waterloo Road is trash TV, I may watch it but I don't find it to have good acting and Shameless is just not something that appeals to me. Also what an awful clip they chose to represent Doctor Who, I honestly cringed. So congratulations Downton and fingers crossed Doctor Who wins next year.

Now for Best Newcomer. Having seen Chris Fountain in Hollyoaks, if he is anything like he was in that whilst doing Coronation St I'm glad he didn't win. He's an awful actor who shouldn't have even been recognised. Last night's winner truely deserved it. Jaqueline Jossa is quickly becoming one of my favourite actresses in the programme, her acting during Tanya Branning's Cancer storyline has been absolutely superb and I expect she'll continue to gain awards throughout her career.

Comedy Panel Show unsurprisingly went to Celebrity Juice. A programme I personally don't find that funny. The likes of QI and mock the week certainly are much more entertaining. QI is a superb programme which should never have been beaten by Celebrity Juice. I also like Mock The Week but can understand why it didn't win. Have I Got News For You is also great.

The Ant and Dec award. Well that's enough said. Sorry they constantly win and I'm starting to feel it's rigged.

Factual Programme was awarded to This Morning. Sigh. That show really is not a good one, whether it's sex tips, anorexics or sexual grandmas you can expect some pointless rubbish on there. An Idiot Abroad, probably one of the best Documentries of all time didn't win and what a shame it didn't. It never fails to make me laugh and educates me on life in different parts of the world. I also like Top Gear but it's constantly going downhill and unless it gets a major revamp soon will end. There was also MasterChef a very average programme which I just find overhyped.

The Reality Programme of the year was I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. Basically this year the Fatima Whitbred show, yes she was brilliant and funny and a little bit annoying but to be honest that's all I remember from this year. Come dine with me, a guilty pleasure of mine was also up for an award, this certainly didn't deserve it. It's funny but not award winning. We then had the barrel of boring rubbish known as TOWIE. That's all that's needed really. We then  had The Apprentice, the best Talent Show around, it's a great prize, it's not fixed and it's entertaining, ahh lovely.

Entertainment went to Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow. The least entertaining of the four. Sorry but I find it boring. He's funny but the guests are usually as funny as hot needles to the eyes. Dynamo is impressive but he's a magician not a TV show presenter. Harry Hill was probably the one I'd like to have seen win, he really is entertaining and comedic. Then you had Take Me Out, a show which I find foul. Sorry I disagree with all types of programme like that.

Talent Shows, not talented, no comment. Don't think this should be a category.

Serial Drama Performance, Katherine Kelly deserved. Jessie Wallace I find a bit dull and one-dimensional. Next we had Aaron Miller's actor (Don't know his name), don't watch Emmerdale so can't comment. Can't remember the other nominee.

Best Drama Performance-Male went to Matt Smith, Yes a Who-Star but he didn't deserve it. I love Matt Smith winning it don't get me wrong any award to Doctor Who is great but John Barrowman for Torchwood deserved it more. Martin Clunes I honestly cannot stand so I'm glad he didn't get it and I'm not a fan of Merlin either so I'm glad he didn't get it. Barrowman is an amazing actor and Torchwood couldn't be run by anyone else.

Best Drama Performance-Female, Karen got it! That really is great. She is a superb actress and had some good competition. Eve Myles was my favourite actress on there but I'm still glad Karen got it, they are both superb and deserve recognition. Suranne Jones is also a great actress, but I wanted Karen or Eve to get it.

Talk show I didn't care, I just don't like them and I didn't stay up for sitcom winner. Though the whole category was a very strong one. Miranda and Come Fly With Me I love to bits and would've loved to have won. But Outnumbered is also great.

So yeah overall an amazing year of TV awards. Most really deserved it and I don't have any huge complaints. Role on 2012.
